CATCHING FISHERMEN FOR WALMART

This two-week event used a live webcam to let desk-bound anglers fish vicariously through real anglers. It also used live video hotspots on the gear so the viewer could click and buy items on screen at Walmart.com.

The desk-bound angler tweets fishing requests (what rod, reel, bait, etc. to use) to the real angler. Once the real angler receives a request, they spend 10 minutes fishing, then tweet back the results.

This cross-platform game, developed for Walmart, employs motion tracking to simulate a great catch. Move the tablet in any direction to keep the fish centered. The fish swims faster the further it get from center, making it a challenge. Get it centered and tap the screen for a catch.

The same idea works in a rich media banner. Use the crosshairs to catch the fish, then hone your real fishing skills with the best gear from Walmart.
